THE WOUNDED SOUL: Through the eyes of an African child; experience the typical life of a child growing up in the villages and slums. In this book of Robert's life you will travel with him as he goes from his mother's and his own stories of his birth, infancy and of his adolescence. His stories of growing up in the bush you will find amusing and at times, dangerous. Imagine growing up in the village and most of your life is spent without the knowledge of what the modern world possessed. A simple thing like a light bulb or electricity was never in your world. Suddenly your life is full of wonders when you are moved to a faster, more "civilized" world of the city. Instead of eating from the gardens and from the forests; you must depend on shillings to purchase your meal. Most of your days are spent worrying whether you will eat that day. He tells of one amusing story of how he'd been found and nurtured by a chimpanzee. Then later in life being a near sacrifice by his uncle, who's desires for money and power nearly cost Robert his life.Venture through his days growing up as he discovers a new life, and in it, he discovers love and also betrayal. A book worth reading from beginning to end!
